So on Friday, we loaded up the jiggawagon and headed for the hills. Well Gerlos infact to take us over to the next valley and then onwards to Zell amd Zee and finally Bad Gastein. I was asked by the guys from the Imperium Gastunum Jam, who hold an event every year, for local riders and a few other countries aswell. The Guys there do a great job as its a grass roots event for the kids, by these guys, and they have loads of people taking part and watching aswell, I even met a few people from Townhill Swansea whilst I was MCing! I asked the kid “which team do you support?” Guess whats he said? “Man Utd, and well Swansea a bit” Paolos magic is slowly working!
So the event ran well except for some rain, but it was a pleasure to be part of an I will post some pics as soon as I can as the jump was pretty sweet, big old gap jump that Luka Jeromel from Slovenia managed to win, so congrats to him and all the guys for a good event!
The next morning me and Mareike headed to the Felsentherme in Bad Gastein which takes spring water from the center of the earth and uses it in this thermal baths. Amazing. Super nice and warm and then you swim outside, and then there is a colder pool for doing lengths, so when you jump back in the warm pool your skin tingles.
They had a nice sauna area too, and so our little stay in Bad Gastein was pretty amazing! Good 24 hours for sure!
Bad Gastein is quite breathtaking, pretty different to most Austrian villages as it perches on the side of the hill around the one main waterfall, so it feels like everything is hanging on the cliffs… Big Up to Wolf and the guys from Imperium Gastunum!
