Highway 30 – Oregon

in Portland

A couple of weeks ago we took a drive out to Sandy river and then along route 30, in what I have now come to know as one of the most beautiful pieces of road anywhere.  Firstly the road starts out going over Sandy, which already is amazing and only half an hour from Portland, its a great spot to visit for a swim.  We then continued along to many waterfalls culminating in the Multnomah Falls, all of which are beautiful, and worth a trip.

This is Multnomah falls, which is easily one of the most beautiful places ever, only issue is that during the day its rammed pack and so try and get there early!

You can hike the mile or so to the top, which is really worthwhile, to check the view and see all the people struggling to make the top whilst eating bags of cheetos.IMG_0522

If you want to visit just go in reverse here and you will make it to this spot.  As you see only 35 miles from Portland but much like Manzanita, its a world away.IMG_0485

Another of the falls, which is a little more hidden from the crowds.  Shot this with a shutter speed of a second so I could get this look on the water.IMG_0471

Again this is my favorite of the lot, really nice, and not a million folk doing selfleis in your way.

This is one of the first views on the trip that you get, pretty awe inspiring way to start the day.  Bring some food and do the drive from here all the round to Hood River and thats a great days road trip.
